Food in the 1980's: What I recall from then is the huge junk food fads that are still going today. The millions of cola wanabes and pizza everywhere. Also bubble gums like Hubba Bubba. But there was some healthy food, like frozen yoghurt! Yum, frozen yoghurt, whatever that is? I never did eat it, it's the type of fad thing my mum buys. But that's what's great about 80's food, its all strange weird fads. Do you remember microwaveable ice cream? If you don't, then don't ask you probably can already guess why it failed. It was one of those strange things that could only happen in the 80's, the frozen food industry jumping on the microwave band-wagon. Or what about McDonalds strange creations? Ronald McDonald took experimental cookery to new scary levels in the 1980's, but what was really scary was it tasted nice! OK, some of us know better now than to eat that oil slicked cholesterol stuffed junk food. But not me. I love junk food, it's one of the things I really miss from then. The 1980's really do totally live on in the cholesterol caked within our arterys! |
