Hellraiser - 1987 If you enjoy horror films, then Hellraiser is a definite must watch for classic 80's horror. The first in the Hellraiser series is one of the best horror films yet. I feel this is one of the films that defined horror in the 80's as a genre. although the sequels are good, they can't compete with the effect the original had. The plot in all of them centres around the Cenobites, they are called upon when the puzzle boxes interconnecting parts change position. The puzzle box itself can only be best described as a antique, demon possessed rubix cube! Kirsty played with the puzzle box releasing the Cenobites, who want her to 'taste their pleasures' She totaly doesn't find their 'pleasures' appealing, and makes a deal with them to take someone else instead of her. The plot takes many twist and turns, which I won't spoil for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. I would highly recommend this film, but I feel I have to mention it's one of the truly scary, gory horror films that won't be very pleasant for squeamish viewers. + Truly scary, convincing acting with a creepy plot that changes so much you can't blink without missing something great, easily grossed out viewers will run a mile at this! - NOT a family orientated film, easily grossed out people will run a mile at this. |
