In 1987 a games development team was set up called The Bitmap Brothers. They would go on to produce some of the best games of the 16-bit era and become renowned for their quality, unique style and unrivalled attention to detail.
Xenon Jan 1988
Xenon was the first game to be released by the new team and was a great example of a vertically scrolling shooter. While the graphics arent the best example of their work, the Bitmap style is there from the start.
Speedball Nov 1988
A futuristic sports game based loosly of the 70's film rollerball. Speedball was a big hit and was a good early indication of what could be done with 16-bit.
Xenon 2 Aug 1989
A true milestone in gaming, Xenon 2 introduced 'real' music into games for the first time. Improved over the original in every way, Xenon 2 had a brilliant soundtrack, higher quality graphics and sublime gameplay, which made it a must have title for everyone.
Cadaver Aug 1990
A change of direction for the bitmaps showed that they were capable of turning their talents to any genre. A gorgeous isometric adventure/puzzle game, Cadaver was yet another example of looks and substance. An add-on disk Cadaver the Payoff also followed.
