I should probably explain how all of this
got started, shouldn't i? Well, it's simple...Tim asked!
Okay, wait. It's not -THAT- simple...
Back in September, Phantom
Planet went on their 2002 Fall East Coast Tour. Superdrag and OK Go were also on the
bill. Myself and three friends of mine (members of The JBFC) decided that we
should go on our own little tour, which basically meant
that we would try to go to as many shows on the fall tour
as we possibly could.
We acknowledge the fact that we're cheesy, we bask in it.
For the D.C. show, we mocked The Hives. The four of us
wore black t-shirts with a single white letter made out
of white duct tape. We stood right against the stage, on
Andy/Burleigh side, and got some confused looks from
different individuals. It was my second time seeing OK Go
(my first was at Bucknell U, two days prior to the D.C.
show). All of us were very much impressed, had a lot of
fun during their set, and anticipated seeing them during
the next few shows. All of a sudden, we were OK Go crazy.
Fast Forward to the first of October. TNFCer Nicole
brought it to my attention that the band would be in
Philly to play a show at this TINY club called The Fire.
I couldn't let myself pass that up, so we went down to
The Fire, where OK Go played an amazing set to a not so
amazing crowd. I briefly chatted with Damian and Andy
about the PP tour and brought up the whole cheesy JBFC
tshirt thing. i didn't have anything else to talk about
and i'm not that much of a talker, anyhow. I went over to
Tim and mentioned the same things to him, to which he
replied...
"So, when's there gonna be a TNFC?"
He said it jokingly, of course, so i played along and
told him not to worry...that there would soon be a TNFC,
and that i would be the president.
"Okay. You be the president. i'll be the
emperor..."
Since the idea of the TNFC was brought up in jest, I
didn't hunt down potential members. It was just a joke
between a few people, a joke that was sparked by TN
himself. But after TNFCer Sheryl and I had a
"meeting" with The Emperor after the OK Go/MTV2
filming at Vintage Vinyl in Fords, New Jersey, it was
decided that having actual members could only be a
positive thing.
So, yeah...HERE WE ARE, baby.
The T-N-F-C.
Although we're known as the "Tim Nordwind Fan
Club", we most definetly give props to ALL
the men of OK Go. Dan, Andy, Damian, AND
Burleigh Seaver. Make no mistake. Not only do they play
awesome music, they're funny, intelligent, and genuinely
nice people.
OK Go rocks you.
The Emperor rocks you.
and, of course The TNFC rocks you.
Shoot. That was really long-winded, wasn't it.
HA. Oh well.
Prezident of The TNFC-
Michelle D.
P.S.- Question #5 is the best..
P.P.S- "T-Rex" is NOT my
nickname for Tim. T-Rex is a band. T-Rex is also a
dinosaur. But don't worry, i had never heard of T-Rex
before, either. According to The Emperor..."THEY
WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE."
(Was i cruel for being so vague with that question? i
figured that i'd get some interesting answers.)
