Trash & Ready is a word-based multimedia performance project created by Lisa Foad, Hadassah Hill, Tara-Michelle Ziniuk, and Zoe Whittall; and currently performed by Lisa, Hadassah, and Zoe. This trio of authors and performance artists are taking their show on the road with the Wordwhore Tour: a captivating arcade of sex, gender, hysteria, video and confession.
Their humorous brand of brash queer femininity confronts issues of sexuality and gender identity with wit and style. Come for the costumes and cleavage, stay for the poignant insight into high femme life. They?re your next crush, your next heartwreck, your Emily Valentine.
Trash and Ready have performed in Toronto at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, in Montreal for Casa del Popolo?s Words and Music series and at Ladyfest Ottawa with the Lesbiennes on Exstacy and Kids on TV. They?ve been profiled on CBC radio and have appeared individually on MuchMusic, Bravo?s Book Television and TVO?s Imprint.
Previously members of Trash and Ready have worked together as part of the anthology Geeks, Misfits and Outlaws (McGilligan, 2003), and as part of events such as Chicks A Go-Go, Live Action Ladies, Rebel Girl, High Femme Fridays, Fruit Market, and Ladyfest Toronto. Individually they have been published in various books, anthologies, magazines and newspapers. Between them they have received numerous grants, awards, critical acclaim and telephone numbers for their past works.
