Formed in 2001 and based in Central
Vermont, the USAAF Living History Group (USAAF-LHG) is dedicated to perpetuating the
history of the men and women who served in the USAAF during W.W.II.
Our Living History members
carefully research the uniform, unit, crew position, and W.W.II history to provide an accurate impression of the soldiers who flew in W.W.II. The most visable and striking characterisic of the USAAF-LHG is that our members dress in accurate W.W.II uniforms and flight equipment and movingly relate AAF history and stories. Our members also have adopted W.W.II Military traditions to include customs and courtesies. This allows our members to provide a very accurate military impression
The USAAF-LHG is available for
W.W.II education, at no charge, to schools, air shows, veteran groups, reunions and
military shows across Vermont. We can also provide personnel to assist in manning static
aircraft displays at air shows.
One hobby that is growing rapidly in the US and around the world is W.W.II reenacting. To further our educational mission the USAAF-LHG also works with reenactment groups. Click on "events" to see some of the activities that we have planned! Historicaly AAF representation has been absent from many event through out the W.W.II reenactment community and we hope to work towards changing that.
